GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's basketball team rebounded from its worst shooting night of the season by placing four players in double figures in scoring en route to a 62-56 victory over Neumann University in the consolation game of the Days Inn Tournament at Gettysburg University on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Royals (6-6) were led by 14 points apiece from senior guard Sidney Jaques (Rosemont, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and junior forward Erin Boggan (Danbury, Conn./Danbury). Boggan added four rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists.

Scranton also received 11 points, five assists and five steals from junior guard Christina Hiltunen (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney), and junior forward Tayler Pallotta (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) had her third career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Less than 24 hours after shooting just 19.7 percent from the field in a 46-41 loss to Gettysburg, the Lady Royals connected on 26 of 61 shots (42.6 percent) against Neumann. They hit 16 of 35 first-half attempts, including four of nine from 3-point range, to take a 38-20 lead at the break. Freshman guard Lia DiSciascio (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) scored all seven of her points in the first half.

The Lady Royals overcame 17 turnovers by forcing 19 by Gettysburg, including 11 on steals.

Gettysburg (4-7) battled back in the second half by connecting on four of nine 3-point attempts after making just two of 17 from beyond the arc in the first half. But the Bullets got no closer than the final margin as Scranton held on for the victory.

The Bullets were led by a game-high 21 points from sophomore guard Erica Marvel (Oxford, Pa./Oxford), who was 8-for-23 from the field, including 5-for-17 from 3-point range. Senior forward Sami Borcky (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The matchup was the first-ever between the two schools.

The Lady Royals return to action Friday when they host Goucher College in a Landmark Conference matchup in the Long Center at 7:30 p.m.
