FOND dU LAC, Wis. -- The game was tight from buzzer to buzzer, but it was Concordia University Wisconsin making the intelligent decisions and hitting free throws down the stretch as the Falcons improved to 2-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference via a tense 56-52 road win over Marian University.
CUW got a pair of clutch jumpers from junior Tiffany Hendrickson (Ingleside, Ill.); each of those shots tying the game, first at 48-48 and then 50-50 in the final 100 seconds.
Then Hendrickson tied the game one final time at 52-52 on a brace of free throws with 58 seconds remaining before junior Brittany Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) sealed the deal with 4-of-4 marksmanship at the free throw line after Sabre (3-2, 0-2 NAC) misses in the final minute.
