Marymount Women’s Basketball Drop First CAC Game of Season

York, Pa. – Marymount University's women's basketball team dropped a 53-43 decision at York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints fall to 3-4 overall and even their record to 1-1 in CAC play.

 

Julie Tomesheski led the Saints with 19 points to go with nine rebounds.  Samantha Kane added nine points and nine rebounds while Katelyn Fischer chipped in six points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

 

Marymount outshot the Spartans 37 percent to 31%, but the difference came from beyond the arc.  York converted 6-of-27 of their shots from downtown while the Saints were cold, hitting just one three-pointer at an 11.1% clip.

 

Three Spartans scored in double-figures, led by Brittany Hicks with 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. April Sparkman added 14 points while Kristen Haley chipped in 11.  Aja Wallpher had 11 assists in the win.
