CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) led four Blazers with double-digit point totals with a team-best 12 points to help lift Elms to a convincing 71-31 victory over Bard College in Saturday afternoon's non-conference women's basketball game at Picknelly Arena.

With the win, Elms improves its winning streak to two games and now stands at 3-2 overall, while Bard falls to 1-5 on the season.

Elms shot 36.6-percent from the field for the game including a 39.5 clip in the second half, and the Blazers held a 51-28 rebound differential to help pull away to victory.

Elms sophomore guard Emily Boucher (Ashburnham, Mass.) finished with 11 points and a game-high four steals, while junior guard Jennifer Normandie (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore forward Nicolette Martin (Colchester, Conn.) added 10 points each off the bench. Senior guard Katie Condon (Sandy Hook, Conn.) added a game-best nine rebounds and chipped in 10 points, sophomore guard Marisabel Santiago (Springfield, Mass.) dished out a game-high six assists and senior guard Carolyn Talmadge (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished with eight points to highlight the win.

After playing to two ties in the opening 6:22 of the game, Boucher swished a pair of treys on consecutive possessions to break a 4-4 deadlock and give elms a 10-4 lead at the 14:03 mark to help spark a 22-2 run over a 9:06 stretch to give the Blazers a 22-point, 28-6 lead.

A basket by Bard's Imani Jones (Brooklyn, N.Y.) halted the Blazers' run momentarily, before Elms converted six straight free throws and Martin hit a jumper to give Elms a 28-point, 36-8 advantage with 3:45 to play in the first half.

The Raptors scored six of the final seven points of the first frame on buckets by Jones, Liz Freud (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Victoria Fleisher (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to set the score at 37-14 at intermission.

Elms scored six of the first 10 points to start the second half and build a 25-point lead (43-18) which it maintained for the duration of the contest, leading by as many as 45 (69-24 with 5:25 to play) thanks to a three-pointer by freshman forward Gianna Youngblood (East Freetown, Mass.).

Freud finished with a game-high 15 points and converted all five of Bard's free throws. Freud, Joanna Regan (Selden, N.Y.) and Cara Chalk (Canton, Ga.) each added six rebounds for the Raptors.

Elms forced 29 Bard turnovers and came away with 15 steals en route to 29 points off of those miscues. The Blazers also held a decisive advantage underneath, scoring 38 points in the paint to the Raptors' eight.

Elms opens New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action on Tuesday, Dec. 6 on the road at Mitchell College. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in New London, Conn.
