Senior Audra Droginske and junior Kayla Taormina scored 10 points and 12 different players hit the scorebook for the Bethany College women's basketball team in a 74-50 triumph over visiting Franciscan Monday night.

The Bison (1-3) scored the first five points, including a triple by Droginske five seconds into the contest, and the lead quickly escalated to a 17-3 spread. The Barons (0-5) scored seven of the next nine markers to get back within nine points, but the BC lead was never smaller than 10 the rest of the night.

Late in the half, the Green and White ripped off a 14-2 spurt to build a 46-23 halftime lead. Taormina had eight points and five assists by the break and Bethany shot 54 percent (19-35). The Bison also forced 18 Baron turnovers, which were converted into 25 points.

Fifteen different Bison saw time in the second half and the lead grew to as large as 68-32 when junior Carly Garneau hit a lay-up with 10:46 to play. The final 24-point margin was the largest win by a Bethany team since a 55-29 win at Chatham in February, 2009.

In addition to Droginske and Taormina hitting for double figures, seniors Katelynn Hackathorn, Anne Wilson and Kelly Zogran all hit for nine points. Taormina finished the night with a game-high five assists, while Wilson made three steals.

Leading Franciscan in the game was Christine Conrad, who came off the bench to score 14 points.

The win built some momentum for the Bison heading into the first PAC game on the schedule, which is set for Wednesday. Bethany will travel to Grove City for a 6 p.m. tip-off in the first meeting between the programs since last year's PAC Tournament Quarterfinal at BC, which was won by the Wolverines 66-59.
