The Colonels (3-0) wasted little time opening up a big lead scoring 18 of the first 22 points in the game to take an 18-4 lead less than six minutes into the first half.

Centre pushed the lead to as many as 28 (41-13, 5:47) in the opening period before taking a 46-19 lead into the locker room.

Rose-Hulman's Grace Gibbs hit a jumper and a free throw after being fouled to pull within 24 points (46-22), but that was as close as the Fightin' Engineers would get the rest of the way.

Eighteen different players saw action for the Colonels, including 12 that played 10 or more minutes.

The Colonels shot 40.9% (27-66) from the field, including 12 of 28 (42.9%) from beyond the three-point arc and 18 of 21 (85.7%) from the charity stripe.

Senior Maggie Prewitt (Mt. Sterling, Ky.) led all scorers with 14 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals in only 19 minutes of action. Juniors Bridget Winstead (Franklin, Tenn.) and Paige Baechle (Gallatin, Tenn.) finished with 12 points apiece and senior Alyson Burke (Burgin, Ky.) added 11 points in the win.

The Engineers (0-2) shot only 33.3% (17-51) on the evening, while committing 24 turnovers. Alisa Dickerson led Rose-Hulman with 11 points and eight rebounds.

For their efforts, Dickerson, Heather Finnell, Prewitt and Winstead were each named to the All-Classic team.

Centre will play one more time before the Thanksgiving Holiday against Thomas More College Tuesday, Nov. 22. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium in Danville, Ky.
