CASTLETON, Vt.  – Elms College freshman forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) scored eight points and hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds, but five St. Joseph's College (Maine) players recorded double digit point totals including Megan McDevitt's (Cumberland, Maine) game-best 14 points to help lift the Monks to a 92-60 victory in Friday's evening's Rutland Herald Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Castleton State College in Glenbrook Gymnasium.

With the loss, Elms moves to 0-1 overall, while St. Joseph's moves to 1-0 on the season.  

The Monks jumped out a 52-28 halftime lead and outscored the Blazers 40-32 in the final 20 minutes to finish with the 32-point victory. Four different players scored in double figures for St. Joseph's led by McDevitt's 14 on the strength of three three-pointers.

Ashley Geel (St. George, Maine) registered 12 points, while Allie Parent (Camden, Maine) and Abby Young (North Yarmouth, Maine.) contributed 11 points each.

Nicolette Kapothanas (Westbrook, Maine) added a trio of three-pointers and scored nine points, while Melanie Cloutier (Paris, Maine) added nine.

Parent pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Mackenzie Dufour (Augusta, Maine) facilitated the Monks' offense dishing out a game-high eight assists without turning the ball over.

Parks pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for the Blazers and also added eight points and two blocks, while sophomore guard Emily Boucher (Ashburnham, Mass.) scored a team-best nine points highlighted by 3 of 4 from long distance.

Sophomore guard Marisabel Santiago (Springfield, Mass.) added contributed eight points, including a pair of treys, while senior guard Carolyn Talmadge (Wilbraham, Mass.) and senior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Conn.) each added six points in the loss.

Elms will square off against Simmons College in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, while St. Joseph's will take on Castleton State in the championship game at 3:00 p.m.
