WINONA, Minn.—For the three seniors on the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team, it was the final time that they put on the red and white for the Cardinals at home.

And all three were sure to leave their mark on that final home game.

Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.) scored 20 points, Cherie Kulig (Independence, Wis.) netted 19 points, and Kim Kaminski (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored four points, pulled down four rebounds and had three blocks, as the senior trio led SMU to a 72-60 MIAC win over Carleton at SMU Gym Saturday afternoon.

"Those three seniors changed the program," SMU coach Mandy Pearson said. "They are all team oriented and it's great that they got the win in the last game on their home court. I'm just really proud of all of them."

Saint Mary's jumped out on Carleton early and never looked back — draining five 3-pointers in the first half — as they took a 41-28 lead into the locker room at the break.

"We came out aggressive and got some big baskets in transition early," Pearson said. "We also really passed the ball well today and got some open shots."

Jessica Thone (Woodbury, Minn.) also chipped in 11 points for SMU, while Courtney Euerle (Litchfield, Minn.) added 10 off the bench.

The Cardinals are back in action on Monday when they travel to St. Catherine for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
