The Oswego State women's basketball team went on a 7-0 run in the final minute of the first half to take a halftime lead that built momentum for a 38-point second half en route to a 67-47 victory over Plattsburgh Friday night at Memorial Hall. The Lakers improved to 9-12 overall (6-8 in SUNYAC play), while the loss dropped Plattsburgh to 6-14 on the season and 3-11 in the league.

Trailing 25-19 with 2:30 left in the first half, the combination of two Kassie Kleine treys and a jumper from Meagan Stover helped push Oswego State ahead, 27-26. Two Kleine free throws put the score at 29-26 for the three-point halftime lead.

The Cardinals narrowed the gap to 32-31 early in the second half, but would not recover their lead as 12 turnovers turned into 14 Laker points.  Plattsburgh also struggled from the floor shooting just 24.2 percent in the frame.  Oswego State distanced itself from the home team with a 16-3 run that spanned eight minutes of the half to take a commanding 54-39 lead with 5:57 to play, as it cruised to the win.

Oswego State's Kayla Ryan shot 7-for-18 and scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half, while also contributing six boards and three steals.  Ryan now needs only 20 points to reach the 1,000-point mark.  Jenna Rossi joined Ryan in double-figures with 11 points and grabbed another seven rebounds.  Meagan Stover also had a solid night with eight points and six boards.

Plattsburgh's Nora Campbell scored 13 points to go along with 11 rebounds.  While both teams struggled from the three-point line, Plattsburgh managed only 2-for-15 from beyond the arc.

Oswego State continues its road trip with a game at Potsdam on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
