Baruch Blitz CCNY (85-56), Remain Undefeated in CUNYAC

The Baruch Bearcats defeated the Beavers of CCNY, 85-56, in a CUNYAC road contest on Monday night at Nat Holman Gymnasium in New York City.

With the result, the Bearcats stay undefeated in CUNYAC at 11-0 and raise their overall record to 18-4. CCNY drops to 2-9 in CUNYAC and 4-19 overall.

Monique Salmon led the visiting Bearcats with 17 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals in 25 minutes of action. Jessica Duleba totaled 14 points (5-7 fg), eight rebounds and three steals.

Regina Washington (12 pts), Folashade Akinde (11 pts, 8 rbs), Camille Voitot (10 pts) and Karyn Purcell (10 pts, 6 rbs) rounded out the double-figure scorers. Shamika Boyce recorded eight points and rebounds each.

Overall, Baruch attempted 82 total shots, compared to 56 by CCNY. They also won the rebounding battle with a 50-35 advantage.

CCNY began the contest by taking a 4-0 lead, but the Bearcats quickly responded to lead 38-21 at halftime.

Syreeta Wiliams led CCNY with 18 points (8-14 fg) and five rebounds.

The women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, February 10th, as they will battle John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the Battle of Lexington. The game will tip off at 5:30 pm. Prior to the game, the team will honor their seniors.
