Framingham, MA --- Meaghan O'Keefe (Warren, MA) and Kaleigh Charette (Fairhaven, MA) each posted double-doubles to help Worcester State defeat host Framingham State 63-53 in a MASCAC women's basketball matchup on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Lancers improve to 11-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play while the Rams see their overall mark level 10-10 and slip to 2-5 in MASCAC action.

Worcester State bookended impressive runs at the start and the end of the game.  WSU canned five of its first six shots from the floor en route to opening a 12-0 advantage in the first 4:32 of the contest.

After Framingham State battled back to take their only lead of the game at 42-41 on a Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, MA) 3-pointer with 9:35 remaining, the Lancers held the Rams without a field goal for over an eight minute stretch. The Worcester State defense held FSU to 0-for-5 shooting and forced four turnovers during the ensuing 19-5 run that gave the visitors a 60-47 edge with a minute to go.

O'Keefe actually flirted with a triple-double, tallying 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks. Charette has a solid all-around game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, three and a game-best three steals.  Alexis George (Worcester, MA) crept closer to the 1,000 point milestone.  The senior netted a game-high 19 points and currently has 991 career points in her standout career.

Kara Rogers (Lowell, MA) aided the Lancer effort by leading all players with five assists and Meaghan Burns (West Brookfield, MA) sparked WSU off the bench with seven points and five boards.

Hoffman paced Framingham State with 18 points.  The freshman added six rebounds and three steals.  Nicole McConaghy (Medford, MA) chipped in with 11 points while Cassie Liston (Stoneham, MA) provided 10 points off the bench.  Kia Minor (Edgartown, MA) did her damage on the glass, gobbling up 11 rebounds on the night for the Rams.

Framingham used its 3-point shooting to get back in the game.  The Rams were 5-of-11 from behind the arc, including a trio by Hoffman and a pair by Liston.
