Meredith Loses to Pride, 72-54

Raleigh, N.C. – The Meredith basketball team hosted another top 25 USA South conference team as #13/16 Greensboro College visited on Wednesday night.  The Pride took the contest 72-54.

The Avenging Angels (4-13, 1-11 USA South) kept the Pride (19-0, 13-0) within their sights for most of the game.  Greensboro jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead before Meredith cut it to a two point margin at 15-13.  Greensboro made a run at the end of the half to take a 34-21 halftime advantage.

The Pride continued to increase their lead by as much as 26 points and cruised to the 72-54 win.  Greensboro outrebounded the Angels 47-35, but Meredith held the slight shooting percentage advantage at 35% to 32%.

Meredith was led by Megan Rahn with her 10th double-double of the year.  Rahn had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Ashley Hudson led all Meredith scorers with 16 points. Nikki Wilborn had 24 points for Greensboro to lead all scorers.

The Avenging Angels hit the road for the over the weekend, heading to Mary Baldwin on Saturday and Shenandoah on Sunday.  Games are at 2 p.m.
