Brookline, Mass. – At long last, another member of the millennium club has joined the annals of Daniel Webster women's basketball.

Junior Vanessa Bosques (N. Windham, Conn.) notched a double double off 11 points and 10 rebounds, including career-point 1,000 early on a a three-pointer with 6:25 to go in the first half and the Eagles (15-2, 8-0 NECC) won for the 14th straight time with a 70-53 conquest of much improved Newbury College in a NECC meeting Tuesday night at Hellenic College.

Bosques, now standing at 1,008 points overall, became just the sixth Eagle in program history to accomplish the feat. In the process she moved past Nchol Dupont '99 who finished at 1,001, and into fifth place on the all time scoring list, nine spots from Jen Krawczyk '99, who finished with 1,017. The all time record stands with Erin Moseley '08 at 1,412.

Sophomore Catherine O'Connell (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) registered her 10th double-double of the season, netting 12 points while ripping down 12 rebounds to lead the host Nighthawks (7-10, 5-4).

For the majority of opening half, the Nighthawks kept the Eagles leading scorer in check but they had no answer for senior forward Alyssa Regan (Salem, N.H./Salem). After knocking down the game's opening bucket, the Daniel Webster junior completed the half with 10 of her 12 points on the night.

Junior Alycia Gervais (Windham, Conn.) would finish with a team high 14 points while her streak of double dobles came to an end with eight rebounds. Kirsten Murphy (Woodstock, Vt.) and Kacie Lang (Raymond, N.H.) added eight points.

The Eagles never trailed in the contest.

Junior guard Morganna Machado (Attleboro, Mass.) helped the Nighthawks keep pace with the Eagles early on in the contest. Draining all nine of her points from beyond the arc, she cut the Daniel Webster lead to a one-possession game with a long trey seven minutes into the game. But it was not enough as the Eagles kept the pressure on.

Newbury made a mini run, 6-0 run, sparked by an Ashley Monteiro (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge & Latin) long range three with 1:22 left as Daniel Webster took the 41-33 lead into the locker room.

Down by 17 junior guard Shayla White (Dorchester, Mass.) sparked an 8-2 run, picking the pockets of the Eagles and taking it back down court for the fast-break lay-up. Not too long after sophomore forward Jalisa Fields (Bronx, N.Y.) forced another Eagle mistake and found White for second fast-break lay-up three minutes later to cut the deficit to one. White finished the game tied with O'Connell for a team-high 12 points.

The Eagles return home Saturday to host Bay Path College in a NECC meeting at 1:00 p.m.
