More news about: Drew

WAYNE, N.J. (January 24, 2011) - In non-conference action this evening the Rangers fell behind early and could not recover as the Pioneers won their 10th game in a row, 87-62. Sophomore Jennifer Mateo (Union City, N.J./Union City) had a team-high 14 points in the loss.

The Rangers dug themselves an early hole after the Pioneers game out of the gate scoring the games first 14 points. Drew (8-10) would not register their first basket until the 15 minute mark of the first half on a Jess Reid (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area). William Paterson (17-2) would have one more first half run up their sleeve, scoring 12 unanswered points in a three minute span near the end of the frame.

The Pioneers held the Rangers to a season-low 16 first half points and took a 24 point lead into the locker room. Drew would not go down without a fight and would shot over 56 percent from the field and score 48 second half points. William Paterson would hold leads in the 30's in the second half but the Rangers bench finished the game on a 14-2 run.

Britta Olsen (Hallowell, Maine/Hall-Dale) nearly registered her first career double-double. She finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

The Rangers will welcome the Landmark Conference's top two teams this weekend beginning with Scranton on Friday evening at 5:30 and Moravian on Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
