Late Crusader Run, Downs Rangers

SELINSGROVE, Pa. (January 21, 2011) - The Rangers couldn't sustain a late Susquehanna (8-9, 3-3 Landmark) run and fell to 65-51 in Houts Gymnasium this evening. Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp.) returned for the rangers, tallying a game-high 20 points.

Midway through the final half, the Crusaders caught fire and went on a 11-0 run in a four minute span and opened up a 13 point lead with 6:37 left in the game. Susquehanna shot close to 50 percent from both the field and the three-point line to help keep a double-digit over the Drew (8-8, 1-5 Landmark) for the remainder of the contest.

The first half of play belonged to the Rangers, who brought a six-point lead into the locker room. Jess Reid (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) had eight of her 10 points and eight of her team-high 13 rebounds in the first half. Barber also had a superb first 20 minutes netting 13 of her 20 in the first frame.

Sophomore Jen Mateo (Union City, N.J./Union City) was in double figures for the sixth time this season. She pulled down seven rebounds and dished off four assists in the loss.

The Rangers are back on the court tomorrow afternoon against Juniata where the Rangers look stay over the .500 mark at 4:00 PM in Huntingdon, Pa.
