St. Mary's City, Md. – Forwards Taylor Petrisko (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and Shana Lewis (Bowie, Md./Bowie) each tallied 11 points in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team to a 68-54 Capital Athletic Conference win over visiting Stevenson University Saturday afternoon.

St. Mary's (9-8, 5-4 CAC) never trailed in the contest as the Seahawks opened up with a 6-0 run and never looked back.  The hosts quickly built their lead to double digits, leading by 11 (22-11) with 7:33 left in the first half.  The Seahawks headed into halftime with a 35-23 advantage as senior forward Jamie Roberts (Rockville, Md./Barrie) and Lewis combined for 15 points.

It was more of the same in the second half with St. Mary's largest lead of 19 coming with 5:33 left following a lay-up by first-year forward Bridget Wilkins (Washington, D.C./Washington Waldorf).  The Seahawk bench really keyed the team's dominance in the final 20 minutes, outscoring Stevenson's reserves by a 23-6 margin.

First-year forward Raven Owens (Annapolis, Md./Severn) notched season-bests of nine points, four assists, and four steals while Wilkins finished with season-highs of five points and two boards in leading the Seahawks off the bench.

St. Mary's made nearly three-quarters of its free throw attempts, going 29-of-39 from the charity stripe.  Four Seahawks were perfect from the line, including Lewis who was 7-of-7.

Senior forward Kristen Steiner (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) paced Stevenson (1-15, 0-9 CAC) with game-highs of 14 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocks while senior guard JaQuelia Conley (Columbia, Md./Montrose Christian) added 10 points.

St. Mary's travels to Frederick, Maryland next Wednesday, January 26 for another conference tilt against Hood College.  Tip-off is at 6:00 pm and the game will be played at Fort Detrick's Odom Fitness Center.  All fans MUST bring a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport, with you to all games.  Fans arriving to Ft. Detrick prior to 6:00 pm on weekdays must use the Old Farm Gate entrance.  After 6:00 pm on weekdays and on weekends, fans may use the Veterans Gate entrance off of 7th Street.  Parking and admission are free to all games.
