WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) scored 21 points, grabbed seven boards, and posted six steals as Gettysburg College ended a three-game losing streak against McDaniel College with a 60-43 victory inside the Gill Center Wednesday night.

McDaniel (3-12, 3-9 CC) was the thorn in Gettysburg's (12-4, 7-4 CC) side last season as the Green Terror handed the Bullets three of its five losses. The Orange and Blue reversed the trend on Wednesday, holding the hosts to their lowest point total in the series since an 80-35 Gettysburg victory on Jan. 16, 1984.

The most recent meeting wasn't decided early as the rivals exchanged the lead several times. With McDaniel leading 10-9 at 12:20, Gettysburg turned in the next four buckets to take the lead for good. The Green Terror cut the deficit to 19-16 on a jumper by Meredith Larsen at 5:11, but the visitors turned in the final seven points of the half to head into the locker room with a 10-point lead.

The Bullets established the inside game in the second half, out-scoring McDaniel 24-8 in the paint and grabbing 13 offensive rebounds. A driving lay-in and ensuing foul shot by sophomore Alyssa Oursler (Middletown, Md./Middletown) was followed up by a three-pointer by junior Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) to push the advantage to 44-26 with 10:19 remaining.

After nearly equaling McDaniel's scoring output in the first half alone with 14 points, Moser turned in seven more in the final period, including an old-fashioned three-point play on a fast-break to up the lead to 20 (52-32) at 3:57.

Gettysburg finished with a decided advantage on the boards at 39-27 with 18 caroms on the offensive end. The Bullets also scored 20 points off 22 McDaniel turnovers.

Moser finished 10-of-14 from the field and hit her only free throw en route to her 26th career 20-point night. She also moved closer to moving up Gettysburg's career scoring list and is now just 16 points shy of third place and 21 points shy of second.

The rest of the scoring was fairly even among Moser's teammates with McGrory finished with nine points to go with six boards, and Kinsley and Oursler each finishing with seven. Noteworthy, with one blocked shot Kinsley moved all alone in second place on the school's career list with 104.

No Green Terror reached double figures in the scoring column. Cara Thompson put up nine points, while Whitney Snoops and Larsen each recorded eight.

Gettysburg returns home for a Centennial Conference affair against Haverford College on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m.
