NEWTON, MA- Freshman guard Kayla Vincelette (Westport, MA) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

Vincelette was the leading scorer for Lasell in all three games this week, averaging 11 points per game.  The rookie guard also tore down four rebounds per game and contributed three assists and two blocks.  Against USA Today/ESPN Division III nationally ranked no. 25 Western Connecticut State University, Vincelette tallied 11 points and added five rebounds. She also recorded the same stats against Mount Ida College in the Lasers' GNAC opener on Saturday.

Vincelette has started in all 11 games the Lasers have played this season and is the team's leading point scorer, averaging 11.2 points per game. 

The Lasers will tip-off against reigning GNAC Champion and preseason favorite Emmanuel College on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
