Emory Women's Basketball Notches Fourth Straight Win -- Tops Agnes Scott

Sophomore Misha Jackson totaled 14 points and senior Courtney Von Stein contributed a season-best 13 points Friday afternoon in sparking the Emory women's basketball team to an 84-46 win over Agnes Scott College.  The win was the Eagles' fourth straight and upped their overall record to 6-3 while the Scotties slipped to 3-5.

The Eagles held a 25-20 lead with 6:28 left in the first half before closing out the stanza with a 21-0 run that gave them a 46-20 edge at intermission.  Von Stein picked up all 13 of her points during the opening 20 minutes of play, knocking down four-of-six from the floor including four-of-five from three-point range.  Emory hit 51.4 percent (18-of-35) of it field goal opportunities in the first half while Agnes Scott connected on just 25.0 percent (9-of-36).

Jackson scored Emory's first five points of the second stanza as the Eagles extended their cushion to 31 points.  Jackson scored eight points over the final 20 minutes and ended the contest sinking six-of-10 from the field along with a pair of free throws en route to her third double-figure scoring game of the year. 

Freshman Selena Castillo aided in the win with nine points while doling out three assists and coming up with four of Emory's 12 steals.  The Eagles turned 25 Agnes Scott miscues into 24 points.  Sophomore Danielle Landry helped Emory to a decisive 50-35 edge on the glass with a game-high 10 rebounds, her fourth double-figure effort in that department this year.

For the game, Emory hit on 46.6 percent (8-of-14) from the floor including a season-high 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from beyond the arc.

Emory returns to action on Sunday (Jan. 2) with a road game at Maryville College.
