DePauw Women Improve to 6-2 with Win over Elmhurst

DePauw scored the game's first seven points and never trailed on the way to a 66-47 win over visiting Elmhurst. The Tigers, ranked 15th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches' Poll and 16th by D3hoops.com, improved to 6-2, while the Bluejays dropped to 4-6.

After taking a 7-0 lead, the Tigers ended the half with a 15-2 run capped by Lauren Goff's three-pointer at the buzzer to take a 37-15 halftime lead.

The margin reached as many as 26 on two occasions in the second half and DePauw still led, 59-35, with 5:36 remaining before the Bluejays scored eight straight to trim the lead to 16 with 3:37 left.

Katie Aldrich led the Tigers with 15 points, while Kate Walker added 11 and Katie Mathews 10. Ellie Pearson and Aldrich each grabbed eight rebounds as the Tigers held a 46-27 advantage on the glass. Mathews dished out five assists in the win.

Megan Ney was Elmhurst's lone double-figure scorer with 10, while Kim Schwerdtmann, Stephanie Mitchell and Meghan Fitts each grabbed four rebounds. Rashida Joiner led the Bluejays with three assists.
