Women Fall to Tufts in Opening Round of Eastern Connecticut Tournament

More news about: Lasell

Willimantic, CT--The Lasers faced an experienced squad from Tufts in the opening round of the ECSU Tournament this weekend.   The Jumbos, coming off a 21 win season, proved too much for the young Lasell team, downing the Lasers 88-34.  Tufts controlled most of the play on both sides of the ball.  Lasell shot just 30% from the floor and the Jumbo defense forced the Lasers to committ 27 turnovers.

Freshman Kayla Vincelette led the Lasers with 10 points, going four for four on field goal attempts and hitting 2 free throws. Sophomore forward Kim Archibald led the team in rebounds, grabbing 10 in the defeat.

The women will look to turn things around on Sunday when they face U.MAINE-Presque Isle in the consolation round of the tournament.
