Knights Defeat Bard, Remain Unbeaten in Skyline Play

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary College earned a Skyline Conference win over visiting Bard College by a score of 72-26 to remain unbeaten in conference play. The Knights improve to 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in Skyline Conference play. Bard College drops to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in the conference.

The Knights scored the first 28 points of the game en route to a 39-7 advantage at the half. The Raptors were held scoreless until 9:26 remained in the first half, when freshman Keila Brown (Atlanta, G.A.) converted a lay-up.

In the second half of play the Knights outscored the Raptors 33-19. Junior Amanda Horvers (Kingston, N.Y.) had an excellent game for the Mount, converting 6-8 from behind the arc and adding 20 points. Sophomore Kate Hartnett (Floral Park, N.Y.) contributed 12 points and 6 rebounds in the win. Junior Jen Mocanu (Belford, N.J.) tallied 10 points in the win in addition to grabbing 6 rebounds. Sophomore Becky Metzger (Point Pleasant, N.J.). recorded a team-high 8 rebounds.

The Knights will travel for a non-conference match-up against Baruch College, which will be held at Lehman College. The game will be played Saturday, December 11 at 4:00 p.m.
