Center Valley, PA (December 4, 2010) – The DeSales University women's basketball answered a 13-2 run with an 15-2 run of its own late in the second half pulling away from Delaware Valley College in a 69-60 win over the Aggies in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

Three players reached double figures and three more totaled eight points in the win as the Bulldogs (4-3, 1-1 Freedom) forced 29 Del. Val. (3-4, 0-2 Freedom) turnovers en route to 34 points off those turnovers.  DSU also out-rebounded DVC, 45-41 and committed just 13 turnovers of its own leading to 28 more shots on the offensive end.

A sloppy first half saw three ties and four lead changes as each team looked to gain control of the contest.  The Bulldogs led by three with 1:11 left before a three-point play from freshman Megan Gallagher and a three-pointer from senior Megan Montchyk off a perfect skip pass from freshman Faith Gilbert quickly pushed the lead to nine before DSU settled for a seven-point halftime cushion after two Aggie free throws with 11 seconds left.

DSU maintained control of the game thru the first part of the second half, holding steady with a six point lead (44-38) at the 14:20 mark before a 13-2 Delaware Valley run gave the visitor's a five points lead (51-46) after a three-pointer from the top of the key by freshman Sarah Innerst.

The Aggies continued to lead by three (53-50) at the 8:35 mark but after a Del. Val. 30-second timeout, the Bulldogs responded with that game clinching 15-2 run that gave the host's a 65-55 lead with 4:43 remaining and DeSales never looked back from there.  Gallagher was again part of the run with a three-pointer as five different players scored during the run.

Senior Lori Lidlow finished with a game-high 17 points and freshman Sondrine Glovas added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Montchyk came off the bench to score 11 points, while Gallagher was outstanding off the bench totaling eight points, six rebounds, and four steals in just 19 minutes of action.

Sophomore Colleen Gavin also had eight points and pulled down 13 rebounds, junior Hannah Smith also had eight points and dished out five assists, and junior Cherelle Simmons pulled down 10 boards and blocked three shots in the win.

Sophomore Emily Soper led Delaware Valley with 20 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out and Innerst also finished with double digits (11 points) for the Aggies.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, December 8th when they travel to Kean University for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
