Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University's women's basketball team collected its first win of the 2010-11 season with a 49-40 victory over Capital Athletic Conference newcomer Frostburg State on Wednesday night.  Senior forward Maame Amponsah set the program record for rebounds in a game with 22 in the win.

Amponsah and junior Jackie Bohenek dominated the game, scoring all but seven points for the Saints (1-3, 1-0 CAC).  With Amponsah notching 20 points to go with her record-setting 22 rebounds, Bohenek added a game-best 22 points on an impressive 10-of-12 shooting from the floor.

Marymount opened the contest on an 8-0 run and never looked back.  The Saints led by as many as 13 points with the opening bucket of the second half and never led by less than two possessions after the 13:49 mark in the opening frame.

Outshooting the Bobcats (2-3, 0-1 CAC) 44.9 percent to 26.2 percent in game, Marymount put the game way in the first half by nailing 40 percent of their shots compared the FSU's 16.1 percent. Although Frostburg State outshot the Saints from downtown, Marymount dominated the Bobcats 38-8 in the paint.

Jackie Kimmel was the lone FSU player in double-figures, scoring a team-high 14 points.  Mindy Sharp added nine rebounds in the loss.

Back on track, the Saints return to action on Saturday in their CAC home opener against York (Pa.) at 2 p.m.
