Trinity Women's Basketball Tops Lasell For Home-Opening Win

Hartford, Conn. – Junior guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) had 13 points to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 61-35 victory over the visiting Lasell College Lasers in women's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gym.  Trinity improves to 3-1 with its third win in a row, while the Lasers fall to 0-5.  The game was Trinity's home opener. 

Senior tri-captain Rebecca Cohn (San Francisco, Calif.) paced Trinity with six rebounds, while junior guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) had five assists, and senior tri-captain guard Kristen Fahey (Cumberland, R.I.) added five steals.  Freshman guard Kayla Vincelette (Westport, Mass.) scored a team-high 10 points for Lasell, which shot just 27.7 percent from the field and committed 26 turnovers.  Trinity outrebounded Lasell, 48-33, overcoming its own 33.8 field goal shooting percentage.
