Lady Choctaws Open ASC Play with 92-60 Win Over Bulldogs

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's basketball team shot 55% (36-65) from the floor on their way to a 92-60 win over Texas Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon at A.E. Wood Coliseum.  Senior Jennifer Wair led the way with 28 pionts and 11 rebounds in the victory.

Wair collected his second double-double of the season by shooting 12-14 from the floor and making 4-6 free throws.

Junior Brigit Taylor came off the bench with 19 points on 7-12 shooting, while senior Jalessa Taylor and sophomore Caitlin Brown also scored in double-figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lady Choctaws led by as many as 36 points and did most of their damage in the paint with a 54-26 advantage over TLU in that category.

The Bulldogs had two players in double-figures with Tamisha Timpson scoring 14 points and Kim Hagan pouring in 10 points.

TLU was held to only 31% shooting from the floor, including only going 7-33 (21.2%) in the first half.

The Lady Choctaws will remain in conference play at home against Schreiner at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the "Golden Dome".
