Nashua, N.H. – The Endicott women's basketball team held off a 42-point night from Daniel Webster College junior Vanessa Bosques (No. Windham, Conn.) to win 74-70 over the Eagles in non-conference regional action.

The Gulls improved to 3-1 on the season heading into the Thanksgiving break and will return to action on Tuesday, November 30 against Emerson College. That game will played at home in MacDonald Gymnasium starting at 7:00 pm.

Endicott senior captain Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.) paced the Blue and Green with 20 points on 9-of-11 from the field and freshman Samantha Crough (Cohasset, Mass.) added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Senior captain Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.) chipped in with 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists, but made a major impact defensively with six steals.

Eagles guard Bosques set two all-time single records for the Eagles (1-2) with a career-high 40 points, and a remarkable 10 three-pointers.

In the first half, Bosques scored 23 points including six treys as the Eagles shot 51.9% from the floor compared to 29.7% for Endicott at the break. The Gulls controlled the boards in the stretch run of the second half leading to a 43-33 advantage overall to help win the game. Endicott racked up 20 offensive rebounds on the night leading to 15 second chance points.

The Blue and Green bounced back from a difficult first half to shoot 56.3% in the second stanza. Vitale scored 16 of her 20 points in the period, but six points from sophomore guard Jen McBren (Medfield, Mass.) added to Endicott's second half success.

A Bosques three-ball forced a 56-56 tie with 8:34 remaining in the game, but a Vitale tip-in followed by two layups by the senior from two Eagle turnovers led to a 7-0 Endicott run that helped the visitor's separate. Daniel Webster would get no closer than two points for the rest of the way.

The Gulls bench outscored Daniel Webster's 33-6. Endicott also held an advantage in points in the paint, 38-23.
