(West Point, NY) – The Medaille College women's basketball team celebrated their win over 5th ranked University of Rochester on Monday by heading to West Point to face Division I Army for an exhibition matchup.  The Lady Mavs faced the Knights without two of their top players and they still showed well in a (60-45) loss.

The Lady Mavs got on the board first when senior Mandy Sahhar (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) buried a three pointer two minutes into play.  They would continue to play well as they grabbed a (8-2) lead with (14:58) remaining in the first half.  It would be an ebb and flow first half that would see Army erase the six point deficit and take a four point lead into the break (25-21).

The second half would see Medaille hang with the hosts for the first 14 minutes but Army's depth took over in the final five and a half minutes as they increased their lead from four to the final 15 point cushion.

The Lady Mavs received a bulk of their scoring from a pair of players as freshman Joelle Pollak (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore East) equaled a game high with (13) points while junior Meghan Dougherty (Buffalo, NY/Nichols) tallied (11) points.

The Lady Mavs will head to NYU to take part in their tournament this weekend where they will face SUNY Purchase on Friday (11/19) at 8:00pm.
