Providence, RI-Junior guard Stephanie Coro (North Providence, RI) totaled 23 points, six rebounds and two steals in just 24 minutes as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team opened the 2010-11 season with an impressive, 95-34, blowout victory over visiting Albertus Magnus at The Murray Center.

The 95 points is the most scored by an Anchorwoman team in a game in 13 years. RIC previously defeated Plymouth State, 96-95, in overtime on Dec. 13, 1997.

RIC's (1-0) defensive pressure was too much for the Hawks (0-1) as the Anchorwomen forced 34 turnovers, 21 of which were in the first half, and made 24 steals. Ten of the 11 players dressed for the Anchorwomen each had at least two points, grabbed at least one rebound and swiped one or more steals.

The Anchorwomen shot 53 percent (37-for-70) from the field and outrebounded the Hawks, 49-38. Albertus Magnus shot a mere 24 percent (14-for-59) for the game and made just two-of-20 from beyond the three-point line.

RIC junior forward Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) posted a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Six of her boards were on the offensive glass.

Freshman guard Stephanie Prusko (Lincoln, RI) had 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior guard Lauren Harrington (North Providence, RI) had 12 points and did not miss from the field (four-for-four) or the line (two-for-two) to go along with five assists and three steals in 20 minutes. Freshman forward Katelyn Tarr (Putnam, CT) rounded out the RIC contingent in double figures with 10 points

Sophomore forward Melanie Cline (North Scituate, RI) came off the bench to score five points, grab nine rebounds and make three blocks, all of which were career-highs.

Albertus Magnus senior forward Bianca Brown (West Haven, CT) posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face Springfield in opening round action of the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 20.
