Keuka College Drops Empire 8 Game to Elmira

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost at home on Saturday 73-56 to Elmira College in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Kobe Schriver (Hooper, Utah / Roy) hit five threes to lead Keuka College (5-7, 1-6 Empire 8) with 15 points. Junior Jaden Keasey (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) posted his first career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Elmira College 73 at Keuka College 56

Elmira College opened the game with an 11-1 run to take the early lead against the Wolves. Keuka struggled to get a shot to fall, missing their first 11 three-point attempts. Will Tehan (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) knocked one down to end the slide, and Daniel Obunse (Queens, N.Y. / Flushing) followed with a three to cut the lead to six. The Soaring Eagles responded with 11 unanswered points, holding Keuka off the board for six minutes. Keasey ended the run, but the Soaring Eagles built a 24-point lead minutes later. Elmira took a 19-point advantage, 38-19, into halftime.

The Wolves shot better in the second half, making seven threes compared to two in the first, but Keuka was unable to dig into the lead. Schriver got hot for Keuka College, making all five of his threes in the second half. The Wolves would cut the margin to 14 multiple times but were unable to get it any closer. Keuka outscored Elmira 37-35 in the half, but the Soaring Eagles defeated the Wolves 73-56.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are on the road next weekend with a pair of Empire 8 games. Keuka College will open the weekend on Friday night at Medaille University. The Wolves will then travel to Houghton University on Saturday to face the Highlanders in a conference game.
