LATROBE, Pa. -- Senior forward Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon (Pa.)) helped the Allegheny College men's basketball team earn its third consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory on Saturday, 78-67, over Saint Vincent College.

The fourth-year standout broke the program's all-time single-game record for blocks with ease, as Hinckley logged nine rejections in a near triple-double performance. He also led all Gators (6-5, 5-2 PAC) with 10 rebounds while chipping in 12 points.

Allegheny led wire-to-wire, highlighted by a solid first-half effort. The Gators shot 65.5% (19-of-29) from the floor and 53.9% (7-of-13) in the first half, resulting in a 47-24 lead at the intermission. Allegheny then opened the second stanza with seven of the first nine points, including a 5-0 run by Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) that gave AC its largest lead of the afternoon, 54-26.

However, the Bearcats (7-4, 3-4 PAC) hung around and reduced the deficit to single digits with three-and-a-half minutes to play. A 10-0 run Saint Vincent run brought the hosts within seven points, 67-60, but the Bearcats made only two of their last eight field goals in the closing minutes. Hinckley's defense played a significant role in preserving the victory, as he recorded three of his record-setting blocks in that span.
