LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team advanced in the NACC Tournament by taking down Lakeland at home.

THE DETAILS
Marvin Agwomoh opened the game with a layup on the first possession and Benedictine did not trail in the contest
Leading by one just over five minutes into the contest, Trevor Montiel splashed home a three to open a 14-0 run
Connor Riley made the score 26-11 with 9:38 left in the first
Lakeland cut the deficit to 12 but Benedictine held a 44-30 lead at the break
Nick Kosich opened the second half with a jumper and Jeff Kratz connected on a three-pointer as Benedictine led 49-30
Benedictine went on to lead by 29 points at 72-43 on a Cade Ellingson basket with 9:24 remaining
The visitors were only able to get within 22 before Benedictine closed out the decision

STAT LEADERS
Benedictine shot 61 percent in the second half and 55 percent for the contest, holding a 37-25 lead on the glass
Montiel and Agwomoh both finished with 16 points
Agwomoh was 8-of-9 from the field and Montiel reeled in seven rebounds
Kratz added 12 while Michael Johnson tallied eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists
11 different players scored in the victory
