• The Short Story: The 14th-ranked Johns Hopkins men's basketball team used a 20-0 first-half run to take control en route to an 83-53 win over Lycoming Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Hopkins jumped out to an 11-5 lead but a Steven Hamilton three-pointer sliced the deficit in half with 16:16 to play in the half. Junior Carson James answered with a three of his own, followed by an Ethan Bartlett free throw and back-to-back Tom Quarry buckets. Just like that the lead was double digits and the Blue Jays were off and running.
• Quarry made it three straight field goals with a fast-break three-pointer off a Conner Delaney steal. Delaney and Bartlett then scored off back-to-back Warrior turnovers and the Blue Jays' led 26-8. Sophomore Will Sykes converted a three-point play and Lincoln Yeutter hit a turn-around jumper in the paint to put Hopkins on top, 31-18, with 9:09 to play. That 20-0 run spanned nearly seven minutes and saw six different player score. In addition, the Blue Jay defense forced 10 Warrior turnovers and seven missed shots.
DeAundre Manuel ended the long-scoring drought for Lycoming with a put-back under the basket. Delaney responded on the other end with a bucket in the paint that sparked a 10-2 run that saw Hopkins' lead balloon to 29 with 4:52 to play in the half. Lycoming used a 9-5 spurt to end the half and make it a 25-point game at the break.
• The second half was a more back-and-forth affair as Hopkins' lead see-sawed between 34 and 25 points.
