Giants Storm Back to Topple Gophers, 74-66

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Keystone poured in 30 points in the final eight minutes to complete a furious comeback victory over Goucher, 74-66, Friday evening in game No. 1 of the Stevenson Tip-Off Tournament.

Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) entered the game at the 7:44 mark and went 3 for 3 from the field with two 3-pointers to help the Giants seal the win to improve to a 2-2 record.

Gary Brown put in the game-winning basket on a baseline-layup with the foul to complete a three-point play with 1:40 remaining.

Standout Performers
  • Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western High) once again scored double-digit figures with a game-high 25 points, shooting 4 of 6 from three-point range. The freshman hit two 3-pointers and two free throws in the final stretch of the game.
  • Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) returned to the lineup after missing the previous two games and tallied up 16 points, six rebounds and eight assists. The super senior came up with a steal at the 4:11 mark that led to the first of the Giants' two go-ahead buckets.
  • Goucher's Cameron Issacs had a team-high 23 points with five 3-pointers made. He was the only Gophers player to finish with double-digit figures.

  • The Giants faced their largest deficit of 13 points at the 7:51 mark but outscored the Gophers, 30-9, the rest of the way.
  • Keystone shot 25 percent from beyond the arc in the first half but turned it around for an 85.71 percent success rate on 6-for-7 shooting in the second half.
