Cockrell & Anderson Combine for 50 Points in Season-Opening Loss at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Keystone College men's basketball team opened the 2021-22 campaign on the road Friday night, suffering a 92-71 setback at Immaculata University in non-conference action.

  • The Giants (0-1) will head to John Jay College on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. while the Mighty Macs (1-0) head to Albright College on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Standout Performers

  • Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) scored a game-high 28 points behind 9-of-18 shooting from the field and 10-of-13 shooting from the foul line. Cockrell also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out seven assists.
  • Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western High) enjoyed 22 points in his first game for Keystone, shooting 7-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-6 from long distance. 
  • Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembrokes Pine Charter) just missed a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
  • Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) and Gary Brown (Pennsauken, N.J./Camden Catholic) combined for 10 points and five rebounds.
  • For the Mighty Macs, five players finished in double figures, led by Keith Farmer who tallied a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards.

  • Keystone trailed 48-34 at the break.
  • The Giants were limited to 36% shooting in the second half (9-of-25) while Immaculata shot 52.78% in the second session (19-of-36).
