Keuka College Topped by SUNY Cobleskill in Men’s Basketball

COBLESKILL, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team was defeated by hosts SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday by the score of 94-67 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

James Barnes (Rochester, N.Y. / University Prep) led Keuka College (2-9, 1-3 NEAC) with 16 points and six rebounds.

The Fighting Tigers raced out to an early lead behind 60% shooting in the first half, including going 7-13 from deep. SUNY Cobleskill pushed their lead to 16 points following a 12-0 run. The Green and Gold cut it to 10 following a three by Achraf Sadouk (Williamsburg, Va. / Bruton), but SUNY Cobleskill responded with nine of the next 12 to widen the gap. Cobleskill outscored Keuka 18-3 over the final six minutes of the half to lead 53-24 at the break.

Keuka College came out of the locker room scoring the first nine points of the half and holding SUNY Cobleskill scoreless for over four minutes. The Wolves increased their shooting from 31% in the first half to 46% in the second half. Overall, Keuka outscored Cobleskill 43-41 in the second, but they were unable to erase the margin as the Wolves fell 94-67 on Wednesday night.
