Hartwick Drains 19 Three-Pointers in Lopsided Win Over Pine Manor

            ONEONTA, NY – It was bombs away for the Hartwick men's basketball team as the Hawks tied a program record with 49 three-point attempts and they hit a season-high 19 from the outside in an 84-57 rout of visiting Pine Manor College on Wednesday night at Lambros Arena. The Hawks get their ninth win (9-5) in their final non-conference game of the season. The Gators fall to 3-14 overall.
            'Wick made 11 three-pointers in the first half with Kyle Bradshaw (Tinton Falls, NJ/Manasquan) and Pat Garey (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) combing for seven of them as the Hawks led by 21 at the break. Garey hit another four in the second half as he tied a career-high with seven treys. He finished with a game-high 23 points. Bradshaw added 14 points. The Hawks dished out a season-high 27 assists, led by Garey and Bradshaw's six each.
            Hartwick shook off to a slow start in which it fell behind 10-3 after five minutes to register 16 straight points near the midway point of the half to grab a 19-10 advantage. Following a three from Bradshaw at 8:38 for a 25-13 lead, the Hawks would not hold less than a double-digits advantage.
            Twenty-two points would be the Hawks' largest margin before they hit the locker room up 46-25. Bradshaw had 12 points with Garey adding 11 in the half.
            Hartwick held at least a 20-point edge for all of the second half. The lead ballooned to 35 points, 77-42, with 7:53 remaining and the Hawks nearly led by 30 or more for the last eight-plus minutes.
            The Hawks made 41.3% (31-for-75) from the floor and 38.8% (19-for-49) from beyond the three-point arc. They also out-rebounded the Gators 50-44. Pine Manor made only 33.9% (20-for-59) from the field and hit just two threes all night.
            Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, NY/Chaminade) finished the contest with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds for 'Wick. Nick Eiler (Highland Mills, NY/Saddle River Day) netted nine points with a trio of threes. Liam Drennan (Oyster Bay, NY/Chaminade) added eight points, a game-high five steals, four boards, two assists, and two blocks, and Zach Hayn (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) chipped in five assists and three rebounds.
            Cormac Reilly (New York, NY/Trinity Pawling) and Drew Johnson (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) each scored six points and Austin Haskell (Kirkwood, NY/Susquehanna Valley) grabbed six rebounds.
            Sayvonn Houston was the only Gator in double figures with 20 points. Christian Mobley contributed nine.
            The Hawks host Alfred in an Empire 8 showdown on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
