Hartford, Conn. – Junior Colin Donovan (Westborough, Mass.) scored a game-high 18 points and senior co-captain Kyle Padmore (Milton, Mass.) added 14 points and 11 assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 87-76 win over the visiting Anna Maria College Amcats in men's basketball action this afternoon at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 9-4 with its fourth victory in a row, while the Amcats drop to 3-10 with their third-consecutive setback.  The Bantams open New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play at Bowdoin on Friday at 7 p.m. in their next game.  The Amcats host Norwich next Saturday at 2 p.m. in their next contest.

Trinity fell behind early and trailed, 11-7, five minutes into the game after a basket inside by senior center Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.).  The Bantams went on a 10-2 run to take a 17-13 lead just 90 seconds later with Donovan scoring all 10 points on two drives and a pair of three-pointers.  Trinity built its advantage to 44-33 at the break with Donovan and senior center Jadakis Brooks (Elmira, N.Y.) leading the way with 10 points apiece heading into the locker room.  Amcat senior guard Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.) led all scorers at halftime with 11 points.

Rapoza opened the second half with a bucket to cut the Amcat deficit to single digits, but Trinity scored seven points in a row on two Padmore free throws, a three-pointer by senior guard Christian Porydzy (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and a steal and fast-break slam by senior co-captain Nick Seretta (Greenfield, Mass.).  Trinity led by as many as 22 points at 67-45 at the 12:28 mark on a long ball by senior guard Joe Bell (Manchester, N.H.), before Anna Maria closed the final three minutes with a 13-6 spurt.

Trinity shot 52.9 percent from the floor (36-68), made 10 three-pointers, outrebounded the Amcats, 35-30, and forced 23 turnovers.  Five Bantams finished in double figures in scoring, as Seretta scored 15 points, Porydzy scored 14, and Brooks added 13 to go with a team-high eight rebounds off the bench to join Donovan and Padmore.  Donovan collected five assists, four rebounds, and three steals to go with his 18 points, while Seretta grabbed five boards.  Rapoza scored 19 of his game-high 29 points in the second half and added a game-high 14 rebounds and two blocked shots.  Perette finished with 18 points, and sophomore guard Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, Ga.) dished a team-best seven assists.
