GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Courtney Cubbage hit a bevy of career milestones in Gwynedd Mercy's 71-65 Atlantic East Conference win over visiting Neumann on Saturday.

The senior netted his 1,000th career point, grabbed his 500th career rebound, and recorded his 100th steal in a game that saw the Griffins hold off a late Neumann push. He becomes the 15th player in program history to hit the mark and the third to have over 1000 points/500 rebounds/100 steals.

Cubbage scored 11 of his team-high 17 points in the second half to lead the Griffins. Clayton Wolfe was a rebound shy of a double-double, totaling 11 points and nine rebounds. Rich Dunham contributed 13 points, four assists and three boards as GMercyU ran off to a hot start.

Waheem Loman led all scorers with 22 points for Neumann.

A pair of three-pointers from Dunham sparked the Griffins to a 20-4 lead to start the game. The Knights tried to counter with an 8-0 run to get the deficit back under double digits. A three from Jaylen Henry upped the score to 38-23 with just over a minute in the half, but Neumann was able to cut it to an 11-point lead at the break.

The Griffins looked to break it open early in the second when Cubbage was fouled on his way to the bucket. His free throw put the lead back up to 15 (46-31) just 2:21 into the stanza. The pesky Knights hung around, getting to nine before an 11-2 Gwynedd run seemingly put the game out of reach.

Loman would get the lead down to seven (65-58) with his bucket with 2:07 remaining. He later hit a three to get it to four with 26 ticks left. Wolfe hit two free throws on the next possession and the Griffins were able to defend a pair of three-point attempts to help lock up the conference win.

The team returns to action on Wednesday with a date at Immaculata.
