BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Sewanee men's basketball team suffered a 71-64 decision to Birmingham-Southern Friday night inside Bill Battle Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The game started out right for the good guys, as the team scored the first nine points of the game before the Panthers made a layup at the 15:57 mark.

-Sewanee played the first eight-plus minutes strong, going on a 20-4 run.

-Trailing 31-19 at the under-four media timeout, BSC began their comeback. The home team did not allow Sewanee to score another point, as they finished the half on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit from 16 to six at the break, 31-25.

-Sewanee was able to get the lead back to double-digits, 41-30, with 15:38 and held control of the game until the eight-minute mark.

-BSC came out and took its first lead of the game thanks to a 12-0 run in about a three-minute span. The home team led 56-53 with five minutes to go.

-Sewanee evened the score at 58 on a 3-pointer by Jordan Warlick, but the home team used an 8-0 run to seal the contest and hand the Tigers their third straight loss.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Cam Caldwell led all scorers with 18 points thanks to a 7-of-10 mark from the field and added seven rebounds.

-Luke Smith posted 15 points, while Jordan Warlick dropped 13 points and eight boards.

-Hunter Buescher added 12 points.

BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN KEY STATISTICS
-Zachary Allison led BSC with 16 points, while Matt Gonda and Calvin Bak scored 14 and 13, respectively.
