CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball remained undefeated with a convincing victory at Cortland on Saturday afternoon. Oswego's effort was spearheaded by sophomore point guard Liam Sanborn, who was just one assist shy of a triple-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sanborn recorded his first career double-double with new career-highs in both points (19) and rebounds (14).  
• The Staten Island, N.Y. native's point total was his sixth double-figure scoring game of the year while the double-digit rebound outing was his first as a Laker.
• Sanborn's nine assists is the second-most in his career, trailing only an 11-helper performance in Oswego's third win of this season against Clarkson on Nov. 20.
• In a true display of efficiency, Sanborn also committed just one turnover in the Lakers' triumph over the Red Dragons.
• Cortland had a few early leads but a 3-pointer by Brandan Gartland at 14:52 put the Lakers up for good.
• A tad more than seven minutes later, Oswego pushed the advantage to an insurmountable amount (34-17) behind a 15-0 spurt of 4:53.
• The run – which lasted from 7:22 until 2:59 – featured four Laker players scoring, including senior Tyler Pierre notching six of his eight points in the tilt. Oswego shot 6-for-7 during the span – including 1-for-1 from distance – while going a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
• After the break, Oswego increased its margin to as many as 20 before settling in to the final 17-point spread.
• Joining Sanborn with double figures in the scoring column were Quinn Carey (16), Joe Sullivan (13) and Gartland (11).
• Carey had the second-most Laker rebounds with seven to go along with a block.
• For the second-straight outing, Oswego showed its defensive prowess, holding Cortland to 37.7% shooting from the floor and just 23.1% from behind the arc.
