38 days between home games did not faze the Pacific men's basketball team. The friendly rims of the Stoller Center saw the Boxers shoot 47.8% (44-for-92) from the field as four players scored in double figures in a 121-109 win over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon.

 The Boxers (6-5) were led by a 31-point effort by junior Marcus Wallace, who became the first Pacific player in school history to have at least 30 points in three games in a season. He was joined in double figures by Gage Shelmidine (19 points), Brevin Brown (16 points) and Davis Holly (14 points). It is the fifth time on the season that Pacific has had four players in double digits. For Shelmidine, it is a season-high and fourth time in double figures. 

The Eagles (6-6) shot 51.9% (41-for-79) from the field and had five players in double figures including four starters. Tanner Youngberg paced the visitors with a double double, scoring 25 points and grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds. He was joined in double figures by Anderson Bazile (24 points), Noah Alm (23 points), Caleb Hageman (10 points) and Brady Bellefeuille (10 points).

After an early deficit, 14-13 with 15:22 left in the opening half, a 7-2 spurt put Pacific ahead for the remainder of the contest. The Boxers managed to build a lead as large as 15 in the first 20 minutes. Three Boxers – Wallace (16 points), Shelmidine (11 points) and Brown (10 points) – combined for 37 points in the opening half as Pacific went into halftime with a 57-49 lead. It marks the fourth time that Pacific had scored at least 50 points in the first 20 minutes through the first 11 games.

The visitors managed to cut the deficit to two, 91-89 with 8:09 left to play, 10-straight points by the Boxers pushed the lead to double digits for the remainder of the contest. To spark the run, Holly and Wallace hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark the run for the home team. The Boxers stretched the lead to as much as a game-high 18 en route to the win. Pacific shot 53.3% (24-for-45) from the field in the final 20 minutes and forced 10 more miscues by the visitors.

Next, the Boxers return to the rigors of the Northwest Conference where they will have the first of two matchups against Puget Sound, where Boxers' head coach Justin Lunt spent the previous years as the head coach. The Loggers and Boxers will face off on Friday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. at the Stoller Center.
