GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Clayton Wolfe poured in a career-high 32 points with Courtney Cubbage contributing 22 to help Gwynedd Mercy take down Gallaudet at The Griffin Complex on Saturday in non-conference action.

Wolfe was 8-of-14 from the floor (2-for-4 from three) and 14-for-15 at the free-throw line. He scored 19 of his 32 points in the second half. Wolfe also kicked in seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals. Cubbage was just as impressive, shooting 11-of-18 from the field (both career highs) while adding five boards and three steals.

A 9-0 run in the first half opened up a double-digit lead. Wolfe's three made it 23-9 with 13 minutes to go in the half.  Gallaudet answered with a flurry of threes to bring the Griffin lead down to single digits, but Gwynedd kept putting points on the board.  The Griffins turned on the heat at the end of the half, getting a late putback from Wolfe off a miss from Rich Dunham to bring the score to 42-35 at the break.

Back-to-back-to-back three pointers from the Bison to open the second helped them to tie the contest at 44-44. A couple steals from the Griffins allowed them to stack on the points giving them back their ten point lead. With the offense rolling, the Griffins continued to grow their lead thanks to a big 25-4 run. A bucket from Matt Sommers allowed GMercyU to stake their biggest lead of the game (69-49) with 11:17 on the clock.

Noah Valencia hit his fifth three-pointer of the game with 5:06 remaining to climb the Bison to 82-74. With two minutes remaining in the game, Wolfe helped restore some breathing room with his three-point play for a 15-point advantage.

Valencia totaled 21 points for the Bison. Teammate Preston Kelly came off the bench to kick in seven points, seven assists, and six rebounds. The team was guilty of 30 turnovers which the Griffins converted to 36 points.

Dunham registered 10 points and dished out a career-best 10 assists for his second double-double this season.

The Griffins will be back in action next weekend as they head to King's College for the First National Community Bank Tournament. Gwynedd will take on Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
