Birmingham-Southern Earns Road Win at Pensacola Christian

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season on Tuesday night, picking up a 91-82 road win over the Pensacola Christian College Eagles.

This is the second win for BSC over Pensacola Christian (1-11) this season; the Panthers defeated the Eagles 102-70 in Birmingham on Nov. 19.

Led by junior Calvin Bak (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals HS) and his career-high 27 points, four Panthers scored in double-digits against the Eagles.

Sophomore Ben Spence (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) and junior Cole DenBesten (Orlando, Fla./Berry College) both had 14 points, while freshman Troy Stephens (Atlanta, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic HS) had 11 points.

Spence led the team with eight rebounds and senior Zachary Allison (Pelham, Ala./Wallace State CC) finished with the team-high 10 assists.

Birmingham-Southern's next game will be on Thursday, Dec. 13 when the Panthers host Wesley College in the opening game of the BSC Black Tie Classic. Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
