COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A big run by Ursinus College in the second half was too much for Gettysburg College to handle as the Bullets fell 77-60 in Head Coach George Petrie's final game at the helm Saturday afternoon inside Helfferich Hall.  
 
Gettysburg (7-18, 5-13 CC) trailed 39-34 at halftime, but Ursinus (16-9, 12-6 CC) ran off a 21-7 run to start the second half and never looked back.
 
The setback marked the end of Petrie's 29-year tenure at the helm. He finishes as the program's all-time leader with 396 victories and led the Bullets to three Centennial Conference titles (2001, 2002, 2009) and five NCAA Division III Tournament appearances (1996, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009). Gettysburg had never competed in the national playoffs prior to Petrie taking over, and its last league title came five decades prior.

Petrie will continue through the spring as the men's golf head coach before retiring from the institution at the end of the academic year.
 
On the court, the two sides played a tight first half with multiple lead changes early on. Ursinus ran out to a 23-14 lead at the 12:43 mark in the first half. Sophomore guard Nick Antolini (Babylon, N.Y./Babyon) responded for the Bullets by hitting a jumper and two three-pointers to cut the deficit to one (23-22).
 
The Bears again pulled the lead out to nine (39-30) with just over two minutes left in the opening half. Senior Matt England (Warrington, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) converted a layup and two free throws to bring the margin down to five heading into halftime.
 
Ursinus knocked down a pair of three-pointers to start the final frame. A pair of free throws by senior Cameron Stewart(Sydney, Australia/Newington College) and an old-fashioned three-point play by Anolini cut the deficit down to six (45-39), but the Bears erupted for a 20-5 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 65-44 lead with 8:31 to play.
 
Gettysburg would get no closer than 15 the rest of the way.
 
Antolini finished with 17 points for the Bullets, going 6-for-12 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed six rebounds. England posted his conference-leading seventh double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds in his final game for the Orange and Blue. The senior's 9.2 rebounds per game this season was the best mark by a Gettysburg player since John Griffin '94 posted 10.1 per game in 1993-94. Stewart finished with 11 points and five rebounds in his final game for the Bullets.
 
Ursinus out-scored Gettysburg 49-16 in bench points with Ryan McTamney and Shane Stark posting 15 and 13, respectively. Eric Williams Jr. tallied a dozen points.
