Jan. 24, 2018 – Dominating on both sides of the ball all evening, the North Central College men's basketball team took a one-point lead before the contest began due to an administrative technical foul on Millikin University and proceeded to lead for all 40 minutes, sinking a season-high 17 three-pointers en route to a 75-49 victory on Wednesday inside Gregory Arena.

Due to not reporting their starting lineup on time, the Big Blue (8-10, 1-8 CCIW) began the game with a technical foul while Mike Pollack sank the free throw to give North Central a 1-0 lead before the opening tip-off.

The Cardinals (13-5, 6-3 CCIW) poured it on from that point on, scoring the game's first 12 points including three-pointers from Matt CappellettiAiden Chang and Erwin Henry.

The North Central defense on the other hand held Millikin to just two points on 1-of-9 shooting while forcing three turnovers over the opening eight minutes of the half to open up a 17-2 lead.

North Central continued to build on its lead over the course of the first half, ballooning the lead to 21 just before halftime, finishing the first half 11-of-20 from beyond the arc, led by 16 first-half points from Cappelletti.

Carrying that momentum into the second half, the Cardinals avoided a second half let down, leading by double digits the rest of the way, at one point opening up a 27-point advantage.

Four Cardinals finished in double figures, led by Cappelletti's 19 points, finishing 5-of-10 from three-point range.  Pollack finished with 13 points, knocking down four long balls, while Henry and Blaise Meredithadded 11 and 10, respectively.
