MOSELEY SCORES SEASON HIGH IN LOSS AT MSU 74-60

Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College tonight at the Panzer Athletic Center 74-60. The Red Hawks snapped Ramapo's four game win streak and improved to 14-5 overall and 8-4 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 14-5 overall and 10-2 in the conference.

The Red Hawks held the Roadrunners to just 27 points in the first half and used a 12-1 run to pull away. Ramapo led 10-6 before MSU went on a 12-1 run to take an 18-11 lead with less than ten minutes on the clock. Justin Porter and Joseph Radi each scored a three-pointer during the run. Christopher Moseley put in a basket for the Roadrunners to cut the lead to five (9:39) before MSU hit back-to-back three-pointers from Kaan Yimaz and Ramis to go up 24-13 with 8:27 on the clock. Moseley hit another jumper for the Roadrunners once again shrinking the MSU lead before Myles Mitchell-White put the Red Hawks back up to a double digit lead 26-15 for the remainder of the first half with a basket at 7:13. Radi took a pass from Mitchell-White and nailed a three-pointer to give MSU their biggest lead of the game 41-24 with 2:33 left in the half. Ramapo got three points from three made free throws, one from Matt Latka and a pair from Josh Ford cutting the lead to 41-27 before Jordan Roberson hit a jumper to close out the half for MSU as they took a 16 point lead into the locker room 43-27.

MSU started the second half on a 13-2 run extending their lead to 54-29 with less than 16 minutes on the clock. Ramapo went on 10-4 cutting the MSU lead to 58-39 with 11:18 left to play. Following a basket from Jovanni Chatham (10:45), Moseley started a 7-0 run while he scored six points, coming within 14 points of the MSU lead 60-46 (9:02). MSU answered with a 14-3 run of their own, capped off by a pair of free throws from Chatham with 4:03 left to play for a 74-49 lead. Ramapo ended the game on an 11-0 run as they sank 7-8 free throws and Naseer Waker connected on two baskets to end the game as MSU held on for a 74-60 win.

Four players scored in double figures for the Red Hawks as they were led by Mitchell-White who scored 13 points and grabbed a team high 11 rebounds. Ramis added 12 points, including 4-9 from the three-point line while Emedoh and Yilmaz each contributed with ten points. The team shot 45% (25-55) from the floor, 44% (8-18) from the three-point line and 57% (16-28) from the free throw line.

For the Roadrunners, Moseley finished 10-18 from the field and scored a season high 26 points while he grabbed a team high five rebounds and four blocks. No other Roadrunner scored more then five points in the game Zahir Newell scored five points while Ford added four points. The team shot 28% (17-58) from the field, 18% (3-16) from the three-point line and 69% (23-33) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 15 MSU turnovers, which led to 13 points for the Roadrunners.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, January 27th when they host NJAC rival Kean University at 3pm. Ramapo defeated Kean 95-57 on December 9th.
