Tommie men's basketball led 30-29 with 4:38 remaining in the first half, the last time it would lead in a 77-62 loss to St. John's at Sexton Arena on Saturday afternoon.  The Johnnies finished the first half on a 12-4 run to take a seven point lead (41-34) into halftime.  

St. Thomas came within five points early in the second half, but it was as close as the Purple would come.  The Tommies were outrebounded 42-32 and allowed 15 second-chance points to the Johnnies, compared to just three points of their own.  St. Thomas was outscored 19-8 at the foul line, and also shot 38.2-percent (23-60), while St. John's converted on 47.2-percent (25-53) of its field goal attempts. 

Senior Ryan Boll finished with a team-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Junior Michael Hannon added 15 points with three three-pointers.  Connor Bair pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.  

St. Thomas will travel to Winona, Minn., to take on St. Mary's on Monday night. The Toms are in a five-way tie for third place at 7-4 behind 10-0 SJU and 8-4 Augsburg.
