Five different players scored in double-figures to lead the Bearcats to a 77-60 CUNYAC road win against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon at the West Quad Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The hosts led 17-9 near the midway point of the first half, but the visiting Bearcats took control by taking the lead and going into the locker room at halftime up by six (34-28).
The start of the second half proved pivotal as they scored 16 of the first 21 points to blow open the contest at 50-33 with 14:25 remaining. The lead grew to as much as 20 points before ending for a comfortable 77-60 win in a battle of coaches that both attended Xaverian High School in Brooklyn.
William Sixsmith led the Bearcats with 18 points and five rebounds. Chimaechi Ekekeugbor narrowly missed a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Ben Batash led Brooklyn with 19 points in their home loss.
