KING'S MEN POST 81-67 ROAD WIN OVER FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON -- Joshua Bailey scored a career-high 20 points to power the King's College men's basketball team to an 81-67 Freedom Conference road victory over host FDU-Florham Wednesday night in Madison, NJ.

With the win King's improved to 6-8 overall and 2-1 in league games. FDU-Florham, meanwhile, fell to 0-14 and 0-3 in conference action.

King's started out slow, falling behind 8-0 before going on a 17-4 run to take a 17-12 lead with 12:47 left in the half after a traditional three-point play by Joshua Bailey and one-of-two Chris Fazzini free throws.

King's built its biggest lead of the half with 7:15 on the clock when a Bailey three-pointer gave the Monarchs a 29-20 lead as King's settled for a 41-35 lead at the break.

In the second half, FDU-Florham came out with a 6-2 surge to close to within 43-41 and trailed 49-47 with 13:48 left in the contest when King's began to stretch the lead.

The Monarchs put together a 13-2 run, keyed by a pair of three-pointers by Lenny Radziak and an inside bucket from Pat Mitchell that gave King's a 62-49 advantage with 11:12 to go.

After an FDU-Florham bucket, King's scored eight consecutive points to push the lead to 70-51 with 8:44 on the clock after a pair of foul shots by Connor Callejas.

FDU-Florham would come no closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Bailey surpassed his previous career-high of 17 points set earlier this season against Albright.  The sophomore made three-of-four shots from three-point range and was 9-of-9 from the foul line.  Callejas added 19 points and was 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. Radziak had 10 points while Fazzini and Dan Angelo chipped in with nine and seven points respectively.

King's shot 44.1 (26-59) percent from the field and 91.3 (21-23) percent from the foul line while committing just 13 turnovers in the game.

FDU-Florham was led by Darren Davy with 14 points while Shawn Smith and Rajaan Dixon added 13 and 12 points respectively.

King's returns to the court Saturday when the Monarchs host conference rival Manhattanville College at 3:00 PM in Scandlon Gymnasium.
